Elcoat & Associates Ltd have worked with us over the past few years initially to take stock of our areas of liability and then to help us implement management systems to control the risks to the company. We are now well on top of competence management, risk management and quality management. We have been accredited to ISO9001: 2000 which really helps us in preparing client bids and satisfying client audits.

We first got in touch with P. W. Elcoat & Associates Ltd when we were faced with having to satisfy an audit to allow us to carry out contract work for British Waterways. We are good at what we do but knew we had gaps in our documentation. Paul worked with us over the period of a couple of months to find the gaps and then helped us to put procedures in place. We easily passed the audit and the auditor even commented that ours were some of the best systems he had seen in a small contractor. We have now retained P. W. Elcoat & Associates Ltd to check our checks and to take care of our marketing and bids.

We were given the contact details for P. W. Elcoat & Associates Ltd from a long time consulting colleague who had had previous experience of them in preparing bids for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in Kent . We contacted Paul and explained that we had been asked to produce a contractors quality, safety and environmental plan for an up and coming contract. Paul visited our premises and quickly gained an overview of our situation. A few days later, all of the required paperwork was in place and we were able to get on with the work.

We intend to use P. W. Elcoat & Associates Ltd again both on a retained basis to keep an eye on our management systems and also to help us work towards various industry accreditations.

New Growth Training

P. W. Elcoat & Associates Ltd helped us to develop our idea of the training centre from the resource requirements through to legislative compliance and the implementation of the administrative systems that would be needed on a day to day basis. Although I had some marketing experience, they helped me to focus on creating a desire in our target market to be part of 'the scene'. We offer tree climbing as an extreme sport and the atmosphere in the centre and our woodland is crucial to getting people to come back and to bring their friends. They used a series of models to help put our thoughts into order and then charted the time line for the identified actions.

I am pleased to report that things are going well and we are achieving the targets that we planned.
